At the MTV Video Music Awards

At the MTV Video Music Awards

It's MTV VMA weekend in L.A. and guess who's here? Lots of celebs, yeah but also - me!

The gossip I've learned so far: pre-production is underway on Judd Apatow's follow up movie starring VMA host Russell Brand, who reprises his insane rock star role from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." The production are actually working on the Paramount lot where the VMAs will be held and have been gorilla-style shooting interesting little vignettes with female music stars like Pink, Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera. No word on how this will manifest in the movie, just that the shots involve lots of staged paparazzi chases...

The VMAs are shooting on Stage 16, which is also the lot where Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo" and John Hughes's "Pretty In Pink" were shot.

And last night we went to dinner at a throwback 70s style Mexican restaurant called Gardens of Taxco and who should come in and sit right behind us but "Superbad" star Jonah Hill!

Tons of network TV shows are already shooting on the Paramount lot including ABC's Dirty Sexy Money, the new Christian Slater series My Own Worst Enemy and...some other ones I plan to discover today.

More gossip from the set of the VMAs to come all weekend!
